Shammah Health & Wellness

About Us

At Shammah Health & Wellness we start by looking at the whole body, and take a more natural and holistic approach towards your health and wellness. We look at everything surrounding you in your life like diet, physical activity, and your personal lifestyle so that we can get a fair evaluation to see what’s going on with the body at a cellular level. We use tools like Bioresonance Biofeedback which shows us what’s going on inside of and with the body, giving us a better understanding of complications you may be experiencing in your life. We also use Neurofeedback to help train the brain, which can help with a whole array of problems involving your mind. This can give you your mental clarity back so that you can lead a more peaceful, restful, and productive life.

Here is some insight into the business name and logo, and the meaning behind them.  Shammah has always been someone whom I’ve admired and have tried to model my life and character after.  He is mentioned in the Bible and was one of King David’s three mighty men.  He is known for taking a stand against a troop of Philistines to defend a field of lentils.  The point here is that one stood against many, just over the principle of the matter.  His bravery and devotion to take a stand alone for something so trivial always impressed me.

Now for the logo, which was designed by my wife (thank you Carrie).  I wanted to tie in who Shammah was and what he and I both stand for and represent.  At the center of the logo we have the caduceus, which of course is the symbol for medicine.  This symbol was adopted by the U.S. Military Medical Department in 1902.  With my background as a U.S. Navy Corpsman (medic), I wanted to show my past medical experience and combine that with the holistic medical approach I want to bring to those looking for help in improving their overall health and wellness.  The rod (or staff) that the caduceus used to have, I have replaced with the sword.  The sword shows the current fight I am here to take up with you for your health, to be there for you, and to help you and guide you in your battle to improve your health and to combat disease, the same way Shammah took a stand with his sword.  As a matter of fact, that’s what Shammah means, to be there.  This comes from one of the names of God, Jehovah Shammah, which means God is there.  As for other parts of the caduceus, the two wings represent diligence and activity, while the serpents represent and stand for wisdom.  That leaves us with the all healing hand that encompasses the whole thing.  The hand that cares about you and your health, and that will be there for you in your struggles, to help lift you up and encourage you to continue in your fight for a healthier tomorrow.

I will be there for you.  There to commit myself and my time fully towards helping you on your journey to combat disease, and to regain and take back your health and wellness so that you can become a healthier and better version of you.

Shane Nelson Testimonial

I first started with symptoms dating all the way back to about 2008.  Started to get a lot of stomach pain, cramping, and blood in the stool.  My entire body hurt, mostly all of my joints.  Found out I had the start of H. Pylori.  Suffered with this for 15 years on and off as symptoms would pick up seasonally and then reside after a while or after specific herbal treatments.

Fast forward to the summer of 2023, where I started to develop some brain and cognitive function problems.  I had trouble focusing, pain and dullness in my head, trouble thinking through things, and brain fog.  Started on a great memory supplement that seemed to help, but didn’t seem to completely get rid of all the symptoms.

Went through a huge bout of diarrhea in December of 2023.  Thoughts are it was the result of a Gallbladder and Liver detox from a supplement called Tudca.  Thinking that it must have finally released whatever was being blocked up.  Memory and brain problems seemed to have subsided after this a bit.

At the beginning of 2024 in January, I began having this very weird skin infection on my lower legs.  It started on the ankle of one leg, then moved up the lower leg and jumped over to the other leg.  This is where I started with my first round of antibiotics since the skin infection was thought to be bacterial related.  After much debate on what it could be through the medical world side of things, found out that it was something called an ID Reaction or Interface Dermatitis.  Also known as Autoeczematization.  Was treated with a medical cream where I mixed both an anti-bacterial and a steroidal medication with, a base cream by CeraVe.  The treatment seemed to work, but never really figured out what the cause of the ID reaction was.  I have suffered with Athletes Foot for years and just figured that the skin infection was fungal.  But the skin test would come up negative for fungus.  Finally figured out that the fungal infection was not on the outside of my body on the skin, but on the inside of my body instead.  I eventually figured out that it was a Candida issue and that I had a yeast overgrowth in my gut.  But before figuring out the Candida issue, I was hit hard with something else.

During the first week of April of 2024, my wife and I were out in the woods shed hunting for deer antlers with our dog.  We came upon a nest of ticks and all of us were covered in them.  The ticks were small, and I just figured that since it was so early in the season that they were just baby ticks.  But I was mistaken.  We got them all brushed off and cleaned ourselves up, but I must have missed one.  After this over the course of several weeks, I started to feel miserable.  I had no energy and was extremely fatigued.  I also had a lot of body aches.  One month later my wife recognized a spot on my back, kind of like a boil or a huge pimple filled with puss.  She started to get it opened up and to squeeze all of the crap out that was in it and then noticed that there was something still inside.  She then proceeded to dig out a small tick.  I got to the point where it was hard to even function anymore, as the fatigue had really set in, and I could hardly even work for even 5 to 10 minutes at a time.  Went to the doctor and was treated for Lymes Disease, even though the test came back negative.  Found out later that just over half of Lymes Disease tests come back with a false negative.  So now I was put on my second round of antibiotics in a 4 month period.  Antibiotics didn’t really work, and I begin to feel horrible again about a month later.  It got so bad that I had started to lose feeling in my hands and feet.  I knew that this was not good, and have heard stories about Lymes Disease paralyzing people and putting them in a wheelchair.  I knew that this was definitely not for me and I started to take action.  I abandoned any medical hope there was and returned to my naturopathic roots.  I started by seeing an Acupuncturist and started feeling better after a couple treatments.  I was relentless in finding out if this was truly Lymes Disease, and went to my Naturopathic Practitioner.  I found out not only was I suffering from Lymes Disease, but that Candida was running rampant throughout my body as well due to the 2 rounds of antibiotics, and that my gut microbiome was in real trouble and grossly out of balance.

Moving on now to deal with Candida and the yeast overgrowth in my gut.  I ended up finding a Naturopathic Doctor out of New Zealand who specialized in Candida and learned much from his teachings.  From there I began a special diet where I removed all sugars and starches from my diet which was feeding my Candida.  I also started on a great line of new supplements that not only targeted my Candida, but also my H. Pylori and Lymes Disease as well.  After 6 weeks on the diet and taking the new herbal supplements, I was feeling much better.

Through all of this, I also purchased my own Biofeedback device to help provide therapy to my body with all that I had going on.  I have had experience using the biofeedback device through my Naturopathic Practitioner, and knew that it could help me on my road to recovery.  The Biofeedback device confirmed all of my issues that I had from the H. Pylori and Candida, to the Lymes Disease.  It also showed me many other areas in my body that were having problems, and I began to work on those issues as well.

So my body showed some vast improvements on account of a dietary change, finding the right supplementation, and the use of the Biofeedback device.  My H. Pylori, Candida, and Lymes Disease had all fallen to acceptable levels and didn’t seem to be causing me any noticeable symptoms any longer.  I continued to feel better each day, but of course that was not the end of it.

A couple of months later I started to take a downward spiral.  This time things were getting really bad.  All of the brain fog and memory problems were back along with extreme fatigue.  My cognitive skills had declined so bad that I couldn’t hardly remember anything from the day before, much less 5 minutes ago.  I was walking around in a daze, sometimes not hardly even knowing who I was.  My speech had also gotten really bad too and had trouble putting my words together and processing my thoughts.  I didn’t really sleep at night either, maybe for only an hour or two.  It got to the point where my body started just shutting down.  Almost like someone turned the power switch off on me.  I was just sitting in a chair one night watching television and talking with my wife and then suddenly it’s like the lights went out.  I was unconscious for about 30 minutes, and then after I came to, I was unable to speak for another 30 minutes.  Doctors ran all kinds of tests on my brain, but couldn’t find anything and wanted to put the label of epileptic as the cause.  But I knew that this was not what it was and not the problem.  Through a series of ordained circumstances, I happen to find a brain center in Madison, Wisconsin.  It was there that I found out what was really wrong with me and what the cause of all my health problems were and what was causing them.  Turns out that all my concussions from the war in Iraq had eventually caught up with me some 20 years later.  Since I was a type A personality and always on the go, my brain had never gotten a chance to rest and recover and never really got a chance to fully heal.  This in turn burned out my vagus nerve and each one of my body’s systems started shutting down one by one.  I then started doing Neurofeedback there to help train my brain and allow it to recover.  I ended up purchasing my own Neurofeedback device and started doing brain training therapy with it in December of 2024.  Within a month’s time my brain was probably back to about 70% of my mental capacity, and after about 3 months it was back to about 90% of my mental capacity.  I continued to recover by doing both Biofeedback and Neurofeedback together for 3 months, allowing my brain and my vagus nerve to heal, and eventually all my body’s systems finally started to return to normal.

Today I feel the best that I have felt in like 20 years.  It’s been great to get back into the gym, and I enjoy getting my workouts in throughout the week.  I make sure to eat a clean diet with hardly any sugar or processed foods, and am on hardly any supplements at all anymore since I’m getting all of my nutrients, vitamins, and minerals from good whole natural food sources.  I have taken all this knowledge that I have gained throughout my life and throughout my own health and wellness journey and have committed myself to helping others with their health and wellness needs.
